Militant Christianity - Say What!
By: D. James Heffner, Sr.

First, I want to make one thing very clear – Christianity is not a religion as the term is commonly used; religions are man-made and mankind’s attempts to contact God. Christianity is God’s plan to reach out and, through Jesus, contact mankind. If you think otherwise, you my friend, are dead wrong – as are many, many, who confuse the church-world with Christianity, as God intends it to be understood. In addition, Christianity is not a Faith in which the primary message is peace – far from it. Though peace is an essential element, peace with each other and with God it is not the primary message. The essential message that Christ taught is Love, God’s love for mankind, and in case you missed it, God is Love. God hates Sin yet and reaches out in love to those who sin.

There is another dimension of God that the churchianity crowd has buried so they can preach the false message of their version of peace, social activism and coexistence with the world’s false religions. The unspoken dimension is that Christ is the only way to God and that God’s kingdom will come and He will reign supreme on the new Earth – there is no other God. If you disagree with what follows than I invite you to prove me wrong by submitting ‘proof’ from the Scriptures. You may indeed be correct and I’m open to correction. Throughout the Biblical record there is clear evidence that God is also a God of war. Doubt that do you? Then you need to re-read the Old Testament. Once you do you’ll realize that God actually condones war against people who practice false religions and worship false gods. In the Old Testament He commanded the children of Israel to wipe out those people, men women and children – even the animals in those lands. He has fought for the Jews many times against their enemies. And let’s not forget that David, God’s chosen King, was a man of war. Christians are God’s ‘new’ army on this earth and are to be arrayed in battle armor – however, we do not wage war against flesh and blood, our weapons are spiritual rather than man-made. If you missed this part of God’s plan please read the Apostles letters to the churches.

The message of the Christian warrior is Love, against which no weapon can be formed. The New Testament clearly teaches that, God is love, “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son…” also; “God is love” is repeated throughout the New Testament.  In those churches where you hear the message of God being love you may not hear that God also can hate. There are many things which God hates and the book of Jeremiah has many examples.

Jesus gave His followers clear cut Marching Orders, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel”. World conquest by the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word is supposed to be the goal of the church. It is clear that we are an Army arrayed in battle gear and our mission is to conquer evil and achieve World domination. We have the assurance we will be victorious. You have to have a severe case of Myopia to miss the clear teachings in the Bible that Christians are warriors. Although the book of Revelation can be difficult to understand there is absolute evidence in it that Jesus is coming again with His redeemed believers to wage war against Satan and his followers. Christians know the Plan of Battle, the Rules of Engagement and know that, no matter what, Satan loses in the end.

Unlike Islam, which preaches death to unbelievers and imposes a life of bondage under severe rules for every aspect of a Muslim’s life, Christians preach Eternal Life, a present Joy, blessed Freedom and complete Forgiveness for all unbelievers making peace with God through repentance – their cry of ‘defeat’ is the recognition of their sinfulness and only Christ – God’s Son – can and will give victory over sin and death to those who make Him Lord of their life. Life in Christ is one of joy while life as a Muslim is filled with fear, religious drudgery and burdensome rules – the breaking of which result in sever punishment. Unlike Muslims, whose guidance for worship and living comes from edicts made by men, Christians are guided by the Holy Spirit (The Holy Spirit knows the mind of God) and ‘obey’ with joy and gladness of heart.

Most Christians have failed to fulfill their duty as God’s warriors with the exception of those who are Missionaries – they are on the ones on the ‘front lines’ of the war. For some reason many Christians feel their only obligation to God is attendance at weekly worship services; while necessary it is not enough. Christians must go on the offensive against the onslaught of militant Islam, we need to get into our ‘battle uniform’ and do as the song says, “Onward Christian Soldiers, marching as to war…”.  We dare not repeat the errors of the medieval Crusaders, as we war “not against flesh and blood”; while there is no doubt the Islamic radicals are slaughtering people by the hundreds in their Jihad.

Unless Christians join together to ‘combat’ the onslaught of Islam we’ll see churches all across the world crumble as they did in the lands where the Gospel was first preached. With Islam if you don’t convert you die a physical death – with Christianity if you don’t convert you may still be alive but you’ll be dead in your Sins. I rather chose life, wouldn’t you?
